A Day in the Life of Alex Novai
From city rhythm and outfit choices to coffee breaks and studio light, a day is built from the smallest details.

Starting Gently
A good day doesn’t have to begin in a rush. I like to take the time to look at the light, choose a silhouette and let the day find its own rhythm.
The first decision is often the outfit. A statement piece, an interesting fabric or a colour that works with the city can be enough to set the direction for the whole day.

Shoot Time
The studio completely changes the energy of the day. Clothes take on a different presence, poses become more precise and every detail matters: the position of the hands, the gaze, the light on the face.
I prefer images that feel natural, even when they have been carefully prepared. A good photograph doesn’t just show an outfit. It tells the story of an attitude.
A Pause to Observe

Between takes, I treat myself to a break in a café. That’s often where the best ideas arrive, when you’re no longer trying to produce an image but simply watching what’s happening around you.
An espresso, a few notes and the movement of the street are sometimes enough to set a whole day back in motion.
The City as Inspiration
I walk a lot. Streets, shop windows and buildings become a series of possible backdrops. I observe silhouettes, contrasts and the details that give a neighbourhood its personality.
What interests me isn’t following a trend at all costs, but finding a personal way of making it my own.
Ending the Day with the Essentials
At the end of the day, I go back through the images I’ve taken, keep the ones with real presence and set the others aside. Style isn’t about accumulating. It’s also about choosing.
A day in my life ultimately looks like this: a little movement, a lot of observation and the pleasure of building something simple, yet recognisable.
The best style is the one that keeps living on once the photo is finished.
